What is Libre 2?
Libre 2 is a flat disc-shaped device with a diameter of 35 mm and a thickness of 5 mm that is attached to the arm of 2. You will feel a snapping impact when installing. It can be used for 2 weeks and can continuously measure blood sugar. Until now, it could be prescribed to patients using insulin as part of their insurance medical treatment. However, for patients who do not use insulin, the clinic could not prescribe it. Even patients who do not use insulin can now receive it as a specified insurance medical material from June 1, 2020.

The photo above shows a diabetic patient who was visiting the hospital, but he often had symptoms of hypoglycemia, which made him anxious, so he had his blood sugar measured using the Libre 2.
Although my HbA1c, which represents the average blood sugar level over 3 months, was extremely high, I was at 69 mg/dL, which was low, and I actually had hypoglycemic symptoms such as cold sweats and feeling unwell. After seeing this, I was able to adjust my medication, and within two weeks I had no hypoglycemia, and my postprandial hyperglycemia was gradually becoming better controlled. Libre2 is a device that only measures blood sugar and does not guarantee blood sugar control, but it not only provides information on how doctors adjust hypoglycemic drugs, but also allows patients to discover the relationship between their own lifestyle and blood sugar, and is thought to be a device that may provide an opportunity to change their lifestyle and eating habits.
