Substances called microRNAs produced by cancer cells also appear in the urine. This is analyzed using a next-generation sequencer, and the resulting pattern is analyzed using a machine learning model called a support vector machine. With this latest method, it is now possible to detect early-stage cancers, for which previously used tumor markers were weak, with high sensitivity and specificity (the ability to judge the presence of a disease as ``yes'' and the absence of a disease as ``absent'') (1).

About specimen handling
At our clinic, clinical laboratory technician staff manages the samples, stores them in a temperature-controlled refrigerator, and ships them to the testing center. The test results will be explained to you at the outpatient clinic after 6 weeks, and if the patient is at high risk, the patient will be examined or referred to a higher-level medical institution.

In consideration of the possibility that the test results may be missed or the patient may not be able to receive the test results if they go directly to a general hospital, we do not deliver the test results only to your home.

I actually tried it
I collected the urine, put it in a container, stored the sample in a special refrigerator, and submitted it, and the analysis results were incorrect.
After 6 weeks, the report was completed in the form of a test result booklet.
We found that the risk for all cancers is low.
I was particularly concerned about stomach cancer, as it can occur even at a young age.
My microRNA cancer risk was low, and my personal cancer risk, which is my lifestyle and biological risk, was also low.
I thought that now I can work energetically starting tomorrow.
